Holland township school boys soccer10/8/2023 ![]() ![]() 2017 OTS BOYS’ SOCCER SCHEDULE - 1-0Ģ0 Boys Soccer team won the North Hunterdon Voorhees Junior Athletic Conference for the 4th straight year. Luke Pohndorf (7 shutouts) and Mark Hagan took care of the goalkeeping duties for the Tigers throughout the season. The strikers who helped put pressure and score goals were Will Hemberger, German Burset Romero and Rowan DiMeo. The midfield was controlled by Thomas Freda, Teddy Martin, Ethan Ackerman, Keegan Mulroony, Will Deo, Finn Risse, Chris Madden and Owen Kenny. Throughout the season, the defense was led by Joe Gora, Sean Murin, Ryan Palmer, Connor Nicol, Sean Milian and Matt Melick. Ethan Ackerman finished the scoring with a tackle and takeaway and breakaway goal in the final minutes. German Burset-Romero scored the second goal on great cutback on top of the 18 to his right foot on a perfect cross from Owen Kenny. Keegan Mulroony scored the first goal on a tough angle to put the Tigers ahead in the first half. NHVJAC Champs: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 The boys soccer team defeated Clinton Public on October 18th at North Hunterdon High School by the score of 3 to 0 to complete a great season for the Tigers. This was the 6th consecutive victory for the boys soccer team in the finals. This is an unedited user writing submission. ![]() Led by Coach Dave DeBoer, the Holland Christian varsity boys soccer team finished their season with a 20-1-3 record, including 18 shutout games…certainly a coup for senior goalkeeper Daniel Morgan, who earned the 34th shutout of his career. On Saturday, November 5, at Comstock Park High School near Grand Rapids, the Maroons scored two goals-an unexpected one from senior defender Derek Huisman (his first, last, and only career goal!) and another from Michael Pierce-to overcome Gross Ile 2-0 to win the championship. For the first time since 2003, the Holland Christian High School boys varsity soccer team has won the MHSAA Division 3 boys soccer championship for 2022.
